OUR STORY
Pioppi and Betulle ( PioppieBetulle) is a family owned farm.
Originally the property was a vineyard, set within about 3 hectares (30.000 sqm) of beautiful countryside.
The house we now call “Pioppi” was a winery built in 1792 and the other building named “Betulle” was a shepherd’s hut where sheep were milked and ricotta cheese made.
Between the two houses is a wonderful swimming pool with a covered terrace, sunbeds and plenty of seating to enjoy meals outside.
The renovation of the properties started in the 90’s and has been carried out with the precise aim of being respectful to the natural environment and surroundings.
It’s now a place of peace and tranquillity, surrounded by Olive groves and beautiful Cherry trees with each private house overlooking the Ionian sea and framing the coastal towns and the pearl of Taormina.
The owners produce organic olive oil, jams and vegetables with a particular focus on biodiversity and respecting of biological cycles. They also have chickens and provide fresh organic eggs each morning.
The major aim is to share our lifestyle and our knowledge of the area with those of you who are curious and interested. You can come and enjoy this wonderful part of Sicily, deep in the heart of the countryside, but with all of the modern facilities you need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.
